The most incredible journey that anyone can take through life is to be with God every single hour of the day, and to be able to feel His presence. With many people it's not that simple, most likely because they've been away from God for many years.
I will show you how to search for God, and it will be your duty to stay close to God once you do find Him. You need to know upfront that God will not come to you unless you ask for Him, or you seek Him with all your heart. That's your job, not His!
Over the years I have come to understand that to be in the heart of God, I will do all that is possible to accomplish it. However, I find many who don't have a good solid foundation on who God truly is. I will help you here, so that your journey in searching for God is made easier and truly enjoyable.
I will give you the best avenues to find God in your life. Some you are familiar, and with others, I hope, will enlighten your way and clarify some present held beliefs.
*God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is three persons called the Trinity. In Christianity that is the doctrine, while in other religions you have one single God, or many gods.
*The Son is Jesus Christ, and it is to Him that we owe our salvation and redemption.
*The Bible is very clear as to who God is. And to make it even clearer, the First Commandment reads, "Thou shall have no other gods before me."
*Read the Bible for your best guide, protection, and security. I recommend that you start with The Gospel According to Matthew. You will begin your journey with the words of God in His Son Jesus Christ. Complete the New Testament with Revelation, and then you want to start the Old Testament with Genesis.
*When you search for God, sin has always been the biggest obstacle. You cannot do both and expect success. Let me clarify here, "the wages of sin is death" as stated in Romans 6:23 in the New Testament.
*In your search for God avoid any and all guidance from fortune tellers of any sort or type. They can easily manipulate the truth and misguide you.
*Every legitimate and well established religion has their prayers. The Catholic religion has many also, but the main prayers are the "Lord's Prayer" and the "Hail Mary." God is a good listener, and a prayerful person has an excellent chance of reaching Him.
*Thinking of God everyday is a good way of getting closer to Him. Praying to God is a much faster way, especially when you thank Him every day for all His blessings: past, present, and future.
*Be serious when you pray and be sincere. God is patient, God is kind, and you will be rewarded for your persistence.
*Ask God every day to bring you closer to Him. It will be the honesty of your effort that will weigh in your success.
*Thank the Lord for coming to your rescue, whether spiritual or physical. Remember that He can always resort to His angels to help you.
*God will reward you according to your faith in Him. Faith stands for trust in the Almighty.
*If 'organized religion' is not your thing and you wish to find God, then, I recommend that you visit a Christian Chapel and worship God in your own personal way.
*Become an instrument for God. Lead people to Him who are lost, or are having a difficult time finding God. I send many Christians to the Adoration Chapel at the Catholic church that I attend. The presence of Jesus Christ is felt almost immediately the minute you walk into the chapel.
*Experimenting with idolatry in your search for God leads to nothing but confusion, and can even be dangerous. If you wish, join a legitimate and well established religion where the Pastor leads the congregation to God and His Son, and not to himself.
*For your information, angels and archangels are not to be worshiped or venerated. They are servants of God, and not of man.
*Saints are not to be worshiped either. They may be venerated (treated with reverence). God is the only one that is to be worshiped, and no man deserves that honor. You may certainly pray to a known saint or the Virgin Mary to lead you to God.
*Praying sporadically to God has very little effect. Daily prayers will have much more effect, for you will keep your heart, mind, and soul closer to God.
You will know in time when you have reached God's attention. It will be when you find a deep sense of peace in your life; and you have finally let go of all your concerns, worries, and perhaps a desperate situation to Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
God is as close to you, as your desire is as strong to be with Him!
