The Cracked Pot

The Cracked Pot Letters on Life # 3Some experience you will never forget. In some they are a great leaing. Many years ago I had such an experience that remains with me to this day. It is manifested in many areas of my life. I would first like to meet. I was a trial lawyer for 30 years and I am a musician, as it was seven. Most people would say that I can protect myself from people. But even now, when? M for human beings, there is an ongoing inner conversation that I do not want. It 'always a deviation from? How can I do? o? will be good enough. This experience, when I took a week of workshops actor Institute, which is to raise one? S increased capacity to presentations. Among the participants were actors, musicians, actors, lawyers and politicians. After a long weekend in subsequent years? Route? we were committed to our presentation. We have our criticisms, and any other performance. Without exception, our criticism of the presentation was much more difficult compared to the groups. The teacher said that if the lease, we would never work! We are so difficult for us. The truth is that, in trying to be perfect, often refer to our imperfections, and sometimes that is all that we see. Because of this fear of being imperfect, and we agonize over the seemingly simple tasks. Annie, my wife reminds me of a story that shows this point. The maestro lived a distance from the stream. Every day of his servant, the bearer of water, feet from his Lord? House of the river with two large pots, each hung opposite ends of a pole, which he in his neck. A dish was perfect and always full of water at the end of the walk, while the other pot had a crack in it and it was only half full. This went to a full two years and the perfect pot was proud of his achievements, but the poor cracked pot ashamed of his shortcomings and the fact that only half can of what was to be done. Finally, the cracked pot summons enough courage to have his conversation with the water bearer. It have something like this. ? I am ashamed, and I want to thank you for this you down. Through my fault, you had to do twice as much work. But the water bearer shares which have nothing of this conversation. ? Have you noticed that the beautiful flowers and the way you have noticed that these beautiful flowers were only on the side of the road? That? S, because I have always known error and I have heard of them and planted seeds of flowers by the wayside, and are watered every day. And these beautiful flowers, is watered every day of grace the captain? S table. Without You is just the way you would not have this beauty to grace his house. Each of us has our own mistakes and in our way we are all cracked pots. We all know that we have shortcomings and to varying degrees, we have sin around them. But what we need to remember is that all our imperfections, we have very beautiful and very good in the world. Perhaps what is the real courage not to let our fears and weaknesses to arrest us. We continue. Make your weaknesses in a different way - as a gift or a unique opportunity. Identify an imperfection that again to you and discover what is hidden gift that imperfection. Where is the occasion? Want to know what it is. I love your many responses and comments and stories if you have other parts let me know about them.
