The Red Ribbon

The Red Ribbon Everyone wants a blue ribbon. Blue First Place. Best. Even kindergarteners to Blue Ribbon. In sport, I was never a blue-ribbon person. In a race, I was always the last. In baseball, as I was probably shot in the head as the ball drop. In basketball I was fine, as long as there weren? T nine other players in the field with me. When I had my terrible to sport, I don? T know, but I did. And I did my spring early.During years of our school class had a fieldtrip to a park in a city of about 20 miles away. The hard disk is now not a big problem, but if you? Re-six and you? Ve lived in a town of 300 all your life in a city with a few thousand is a big deal. Yet, looking back, I did not? T remember much that day. I'm sure we ate our little bag lunch, played on swings, slide presentation? Typical six years stuff. Then it is time for races. However, these are not normal race. Some parents had come with the idea that the kind of picnic races, like the potato in the neck and holding an egg on a spoon, while the other side. I don? T remember too much on this, but it was a race that will be forever in my memory? The three legs race. The parents decided not sacks of potatoes for this race. Instead, our feet are bound together. A young boy is lucky to me for a partner. Now, what you need to know this boy who had the second most athletic guy in our class. I am sure he knew who was in trouble, that his foot stitched me. As for me, I felt humiliated. This guy was a winner. He almost always won, and I knew that with me, no? T is a chance. However apparently has not? T, which so far, as I have at this time. She laced her arm with me, the gun and it seemed already on hand. The couples were stumbling and all around us, but we were on our feet and made it to the other side. Incredibly, when we tued around and head back home, we were at the top! Only one other couple also had the opportunity, and have been a good couple of meters behind us.Then just meters from the finish, disaster. I stumbled and fell. We were close enough that my partner could have easily pulled up to me the goal and won. Could, but didn? T., however, he stopped, reached and helped me to be? Like the other two on goal line.I still remember the time, and I still have that little red ribbon. When he graduated 13 years later, I was at that stage and gave the farewell speech address the same group of students, which are not even remember that time is no more. I told them about the boy who had a split-second decision that a friend is more important to win a Blue Ribbon. In my speech I told them that I wouldn? T, of which the children seated on stage was that the child, although it was with me. I wouldn? T say, because in truth in a moment or another of them was that child? Helps me when I fell out of their time pursuing their goals with other people in need. And I told them why I? I kept that tape. It is for me to see that tape is a reminder that don? T is a winner in the eyes of the world as a winner in the area. The world can be judged a failure or a success, but the next you will know the truth. That? And remember how important this trip through life. You can not start with a red ribbon to show, but I hope to have at least a couple of friends who does not forget that your time, to be pursued, that the Blue Ribbon aid. I think these are the ones that really count? So what? S, which counted more than me.About The Author of life is to live? Not just survive. Find out how. Visit StaciStallings.com. You?
